Choose your very own little Heavenly Champion.

The best way to foster vocations is by giving good example. The best way to give good example is by being holy. The best way to attain holiness is through our own prayers and those of others. So why not arrange for your very own saint to adopt you (as His/Her chosen priest) and become your special champion before the throne of God?

There is nothing so poignant as the funeral of little children. What can the priest say to the grieving parents that will help them in any way whatsoever? Remind them that their little child so recently baptized, is already seeing God face to face in the kingdom of heaven. He is a saint.

Encourage these brokenhearted parents during the homily to frequently pray to their very own little saint and ask them if they would be so kind as to petition their child to “adopt you as his chosen priest” so that through the intercession of this new member of the Church Triumphant you may obtain the grace to grow in holiness and by your example encourage other parishioners to follow in your footsteps and consider the priesthood or religious life.

We frequently fail to intercede with these little saints, that God in His mercy has given especially to our parishes. These chosen souls are God’s precious gift to us.

Sr Faustina of the Blessed Sacrament (Diary No 1221) states “These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the Heavenly Father’s favorites. They are a sweet smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. ”

You will be publicly proclaiming to the weeping parents that they are the father and mother of a saint. This truth will not eliminate the cross but it will be a consolation in their suffering. If you pray to become holy your prayer will be efficacious. Holy priests foster vocations.
